The CRCNA has identified a need to bring together the investment promotion, attraction and facilitation community to increase investment outcomes in northern Australia and achieve government-facilitated, rather than government-led economic growth by establishing a shared vision and strategic framework for investment facilitation in new northern Australia agriculture developments.
This study will address an identified need to coordinate the investment environment and establish a shared vision to achieve investment outcomes to capitalise on the opportunity of dynamic global markets. This will ensure investment opportunities are maximised for the benefit of the northern Australia economy and its communities.
The research will identify investment opportunities, investor targets and policies to de-risk the investment pathways for the establishment of new agricultural developments. This will include the identification of prospective agriculture regions, an investor market analysis and the development of a classification model to determine the investor typology and investor target list.
This will be used by Austrade and State and Territory governments to drive investment outcomes in northern Australia.
Expected outcomes and impact:
- A comprehensive report which will include key actionable recommendations to enable greenfield agriculture investments in northern Australia and inform an over-arching strategic framework for identifying and attracting investors to northern Australia.
